This is a very detailed website, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to use this program. What type of images does it work with? What is the output? Can I use this for analysis of selected area diffraction images and will it index a set of SAED micrographs? It could use a couple of extra paragraphs written at a high level to explain the context, purpose and goals of the software. Just a thought.

No, 2dx will not process electron diffraction data in the current state.
So far, 2dx_image processes real-space images of 2D crystal data. 2dx_merge can then be used to merge data from several (potentially tilted) real-space crystal images into a 3D volume.
